Deals and Other Interesting Tidbits
Toggling through my feeds this morning. I found these tidbits of information that some of you may find useful or may not. The first of which are deals of the Week and Games on Demand titles outlined by Gamerscore blog (via Joystiq) for Xbox Live.
- Hasbro Family Game Night on October 12th for 400 MS Points/$5.00
- Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode on October 19th for 240 points/$3.00
- Fable 2 Pub Games on October 26th for 240 points/$3.00
Other titles to be offered during the month of October should include.
- Grand Theft Auto 4 on October 13th
- Midnight Club: Los Angeles on October October 20th
- Army of Two on October October 20th
- Sonic Unleashed on October October 20th
- Dead Space on October 27th
- DiRT on October 27th
It also would be apparent that Amazon.com and Sony are now announcing that PSN download codes will be available through Amazon.com. This means download—able games for the PlayStation portable and other download—able content will be available through Amazon.com for PSN.
Then on a more skeptical note but fairly interesting. There is a leaked document circulating that supposedly appeared on “Sega’s FTP” that is being reported on consistently which implies that Sony is intending on launching a section of their PlayStation Store to sell PS2 game downloads for the PS3. Most of them go on to talk about backward compatibility and how it may never be coming back to the PS3. Then of course how this may be why it wont.
I would argue that this is fairly obvious to most people by reading it but whether this is true or not. Your guess is as good as mine but we wont know until it is announced by Sony.
Though according to the leak, not only may we see PS2 titles but titles from the GameCube and a Japanese Import section.
Now onto a lighter note if your looking to save a few bucks and you’ve yet to play God of War. The God of War Collection with the God of War 3 demo is supposedly still on for a fall 2009 release date according to Sony. Even though several retailers have changed their release pages. Your essentially getting both titles, God of War I and God of War II for $36.99(List Price: $39.99) remastered at a resolution of 720p for the PlayStation 3.
If your looking for anymore deals or just want to window shop. Feel free to check out Capcom’s Deal of the Week page.
