Apple, NVIDIA, Wintek and Rumors

Amidst rumors of a possible Netbook offering from Apple. There are reports flaring up of overheating in the 9600M discrete graphics chipset by NVIDIA found in MacBook Pros. Some of you might recall the NVIDIA chipsets from third quarter of 2008 and during the summer. The solders that hold the graphics chips in place in certain Notebooks were melting from the heat generated by the chipset.

I would think with as much as some people invest into Notebooks from Apple such as the MacBook Pro. Apple is going to be quick to address any concerns or possible issues arising with the NVIDIA chipsets but anyway.

The rumors are that Taiwan—based Wintek will supply touch panels for Apple’s new Netbook but of course keep in mind this is just a rumor. Nothing more and nothing less but lets have a simple hypothetical.

If Apple did being a new Netbook offering to the table. How many of you would probably be interested in picking one up for yourselves?

I know id at least give it a good look over and eye the competition but given the economy as it is now this new Netbook would have to bring heavy competition to the table in terms of pricing for me to consider investing in another Notebook or Netbook.
